Everyone loves watching movies. They take us to another place in our minds. No longer are you working at Sheetz, trying to pay the bills and listening to your baby cry while your partner complains about the leaky faucet. Now you feel like you're an action hero, transformed to another time and place. Movies are a way to escape reality.

Movies also spur creativity. Anytime I watch a movie, it inspires me in some way. It may make me want to lose weight, or become a singer, or pursue a dream I have. Whatever the case, movies have a profound effect on the viewer, even if it's only for two hours that you go to that other world.

What are the top ten movies of 2007? Here's my list…

1.Pirates of the Caribbean. I have to say, I really love this movie because Johnny Depp is so hilariously funny in this role. With nothing else in the whole movie, I would still get a kick out of him being the rum-runner pirate! I also enjoyed the special effects and plot line. The true sense of this movie is that it makes me feel free, watching the characters sail the oceans of the Caribbean. You feel as if you're on your own journey to the ends of time, which is very thrilling.

2. Dan In Real Life. The first time I saw the sitcom “The Office,” I was rolling on the floor laughing. Steve Carrell is just very funny. I think it's because he is makes himself out to be an idiot, where he really is a smart guy. We all relate to him, because we have all been embarrassed before like he seems to be on a daily basis. The cool thing about Dan in Real Life is that it's like a movie about the rest of Steve Carrell's life at the office, the part about his love life and family. So we get a different perspective on how his antics can be funny with his personal life.

3. August Rush. This movie is great because it is so meaningful. The mother and her son are going to find each other by playing music. I like this movie because it helps the argument of keeping music in the schools! Also, it is powerfully emotional and shows us the connection we all have to our close family members.

4. Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. Dustin Hoffman is, face it, funny. This movie is magical, and reminds me of when I was a child and thought anything was possible. Perhaps it can allow us all to escape the reality that we know and to dream up new possibilities that will improve the world in general, such as a nation where everyone has health care.

5. Fred Claus. Another great comedy, this one is just purely enjoyable. Sit back and watch the humor unfold. If you like Tim's sense of humor in Home Improvement, then you'll love this movie.

6. Mr. Brooks. I have to love any movie with Kevin Costner. He just is a brilliant actor. This was cool because it showed his dark side, which I'm not sure anyone knew he even had too much. Bravo, Kevin Costner!

7. Beowulf. This is an epic movie, and is full of action the whole way through. You are delighted with some acting greats, such as Angelina Jolie, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich. The special effects make this movie worth watching, along with its awesome cast and action packed sequences.

8. Premonition. I put this on the list because I love Sandra Bullock. The movie was worth seeing just for her alone. It could have had a better organized plot, but still had a catchy theme and imaginative plot.

9. Good Luck Chuck. This is pretty funny, and ridiculous at that. The plot is so unbelievable that it becomes believable as you cheer for Chuck to get the girl! It's also cute how clumsy the girl is!

10. Bourne Ultimatum. The Bourne Ultimatum finally ties up what has been going on in the first two movies. The end finally comes, and hopefully Bourne can now go back to a normal life? Matt Damon, as usual, fills the role well and gives us a movie to enjoy.
